Intermediate (Level 1)

What is colloquial Indonesian language, and is it different from standard Indonesian? Does Indonesia have famous legends, ceremonies and cultural celebrations? Designed as a continuation of the basic level, the intermediate syllabus covers a wide area of study which will dramatically improve the students’ skills in reading, speaking, writing and listening. Reading and speaking skills are the mainstay in this module. Through improved reading abilities, students can effectively broaden their vocabulary and get used to different writing styles. Short stories and short articles are introduced in this module, as well as some simple documentaries and films. Students will also learn more about Indonesian affixes and learn to construct more complex sentences in this module. In addition, colloquial language is introduced in this level. For students who have not previously completed Basic level module 2, pre-course assessment is required prior to joining this module.
